The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $27 per hour. This role is also eligible for S&C’s annual short-term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria. Join Our Team as a Machinist! Are you passionate about CNC Machining? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to join our Metal Cutting & Turning Operations team. As a Machinist, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. In this job you will be setting up and operating a variety of CNC Turning, Vertical and Horizontal machining centers. Duration of set-ups varies, once set-up, running times vary depending on the job order. You will be working in a production environment where all jobs have a measured standard production rate, and you will be responsible for the quality of your work. Most tasks require good hand/eye coordination and the full range motion of both hands and arms on a regular and repetitive basis.  Key Responsibilities: <ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Handling of piece parts ranging in weight from 1lb. to 25 lbs. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Deburring and cleaning of parts using various hand and power tools such as a belt sander or drill press. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Inspection of parts visually and using various measurement tools such as height gauges, micrometers and calipers. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Enrollment and successful completion of courses offered at S&C through S&C Continuous Improvement Institute are expected. </li></ul> What you’ll Need To Succeed: Job Requirements ( To select this job at a minimum you must have the following): <ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Demonstrated ability to read blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Ability to organize, prioritize and plan daily work assignments in a self-directed changing environment. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Knowledge of shop math. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Proficient use of measuring equipment such as height gauges, micrometers and calipers. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Understanding of metal-cutting applications and machine practices. </li></ul> Preferred: <ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Previous experience with set-up and operation of numerically controlled machines. </li></ul>Education <ul><li>High school diploma or GED required </li></ul>Major Physical Demands: <ul style="list-style-type:disc;"><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Standing: Most tasks performed in a standing position. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 1lb. to 25 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Walking: Occasional walking short distances (less than one-eighth mile.) </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 1lb. to 50 lbs. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Pushing: Occasional pushing of part containers with manual hand truck. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Pulling: Occasional pulling of part containers with manual hand truck. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Bending: Occasional bending and crouching required to perform job tasks. </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Reaching: Frequent reaching required to move parts from machine to tubs </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">Handling: Continuous handling of piece parts ranging in size from 1lb. to 25 lbs. along with a variety of hand </li><li style="background-color:white;color:#333333;line-height:normal;tab-stops:list .5in;">tools. </li></ul> S&C Electric is committed to equal-opportunity employment.
